New Old Piano

Found a piano last night at a thrift store for $100! Sounds really nice, but looks like hell. So we took it on as a project. Got the majority of it sanded down last night, hopefully finish the rough sanding today, then start on smoothing ‘er down. The finished product will hopefully be amazing, watch for pics.

Welp, here we go

Found my old EPIA 800. I had sold it to someone from mp3car.com, they sent it back cause it wouldn’t post. Shipping damage… anyway, what I did is the BIOS flash swap trick, easy enough to do. So now I’m off to the races loading up my EPIA 800 with Micro2003. 384mb ram kinda bums me out, wish I could find another 256mb stick of PC133. But alas. Now on this build I’m tryin something a little different. I have a CF to IDE adapter that I’m going to load up, but I’m going to try this one without any type of EWF or write protection. Just going to disable the swap file. Wonder how long before I start getting read errors…

Bad news in my CarPC world

Welp, just blew up the motherboard. Brought all my stuff inside and a cap popped when I powered it up. Why does all the stupid stuff happen to me I wonder. This is on top of having an M2-ATX PSU blow a cap on me a couple months ago. And also a few weeks prior to that, my stereo amp busts a cap. I feel like bustin’ a cap.

Testing out the Gnome Applet

Ubuntu has a neat gnome applet in the repositories that can let me post a new blog without having to login and all that junk first. Let’s see how it works… success!

New Blog!

So this is my very first blog of my very own.  It’s hosted on my home PC running Ubuntu Hardy.  Surprisingly easy to setup. Yay!  Still have a little more to get setup on it, but it’s lookin good.
